Course requirements

  • 40 hours of flight time.

  • 20 hours of flight training from an authorized instructor

  • 3 hours of dual cross-country flight training

  • 3 hours of dual night flight training

  • 10 hours of solo flight time

  • Required Ground Instruction

  • Pass the FAA Knowledge Test

  • Pass the FAA Practical Exam


Private Pilot Training

Earning your private pilot certificate is the first step in your aviation journey. Whether you plan on starting a career as a professional pilot, or you’re just looking for a new hobby, this will be your first major milestone.

eligibility requirements

  • Be at least 17 years old (Start training at any age! Private Pilot Certificates are available at 17.)

  • Obtain at least a Third Class FAA Medical Certificate (link below)

  • Hold a Student Pilot Certificate prior to solo flight (link below)

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
